Pick-up from your Arusha hotel at 07:30 for the 45 minute drive to the park. Game drive through the montane forest to the Ngurdoto Crater rim viewpoints, with colobus monkey, buffalo, warthog and bushbuck along the way.
Continue to the alkaline Momella Lakes where flamingos gather. Two hour canoe safari on the water, drifting past giraffe, waterbuck and hippo from a perspective no vehicle gives you. Picnic lunch at the lakeside.
Optional guided walk with an armed ranger on the lower slopes of Mount Meru, then the drive back to Arusha arriving around 17:30.
